One Day. One Javelina Family.
Mark your calendar — our Javelina Family comes together for one unforgettable day.
Javelina Day of Giving is a one-day, 24-hour online fundraising event that brings together alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends to celebrate what unites us—being Javelinas.
The campaign kicks off on August 15 and builds toward September 15, our official Day of Giving, when the entire Javelina Family comes together to make an impact.
Held in honor of our university’s founding, this day celebrates our past while investing in our future. Every gift—no matter the size—supports the area that means the most to you, from scholarships and academic programs to athletics and student success.
Why September 15 Matters
Our Javelina Day of Giving is held on September 15 to honor a defining moment in our university's history.
In the early 1900s, community leaders across South Texas came together with a bold vision—to establish a college that would expand access to education and meet the region's growing need for qualified, bilingual teachers. Their advocacy spanned two decades and reflected a deep commitment to the future of South Texas.
That vision became reality through the generosity of the King Ranch and the determination of those who believed in what this institution could become. On September 15, 1924, Robert J. Kleberg turned the first shovel of earth, marking the beginning of what is now Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
Today, we honor that legacy by coming together as a Javelina Family on September 15—continuing the spirit of investment, opportunity, and impact that started it all.
