Reimagining What’s Possible in Education
From the Rio Grande Valley to shaping the future of classrooms across Texas, Dr. Kasey Powers has built a career dedicated to empowering others through innovation and technology.
After earning her Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Kasey began transforming teaching in Harlingen CISD through the Digital Classroom Initiative, helping educators bring creativity and technology together in meaningful ways. Her passion for innovation led her to Houston, where she advanced Episcopal High School’s 1:1 technology vision—and soon after, to the opportunity of a lifetime with Apple Education.
For the past nine years, Kasey has been helping school leaders reimagine education—first as an Apple Professional Learning Specialist and now as an Education Leadership Executive, supporting districts across Texas. Through her work, she inspires educators and students to dream bigger and lead with purpose.
“Technology isn’t about the device,” Kasey shares. “It’s about what people can do with it when they’re inspired and empowered.”
Kasey credits TAMUK and mentors like Dr. Marybeth Green for preparing her to lead with confidence, creativity, and compassion. Among her proudest achievements are earning her Doctorate in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University, being named an Apple Distinguished Educator, and giving back through her service with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
To today’s Javelinas, Kasey’s advice is simple but powerful:
“Say yes to opportunities that challenge you. Stay curious, fail forward, and always do work that matters.”
Her journey is a testament to passion, perseverance, and the power of a Javelina education to open doors and change lives.
