Alumni Spotlight: 1LT Denise Alejandra Sosa ’23

From the classroom to the frontlines of leadership, Denise Alejandra Sosa embodies what it means to be a Javelina. A proud member of the Class of December 2023, Denise graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and a minor in Military Science. Today, she serves our nation as a 1LT Maintenance Platoon Leader, where she leads with discipline, resilience, and a commitment to service.

During her time at Texas A&M-Kingsville, Denise not only excelled academically but also gained the skills and confidence that prepared her for the responsibilities of military leadership. Her journey reflects the power of a Javelina education—equipping graduates to make an impact in their communities and beyond.

Stories like Denise’s remind us why we come together each year for Javelina Day of Giving. When alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends give back, they help shape the next generation of leaders who will carry the Javelina spirit into the world. Denise is proof that your support makes a lasting difference.

This September 15th, join us in celebrating the success of Javelinas like Denise by participating in Javelina Day of Giving—because once a Javelina, always a Javelina. 💙💛
